Specific scenarios
- Any damage or stagger caused by an enemy, divine beast or wildlife directly or indirectly, being alive or dead, counts as a hit.
- Blocking with a shield counts as a hit. However, blocking with a wooden shield the Thunder Blight’s electric balls doesn’t count as a hit - there’s no animation on Link and the shield doesn’t get damaged.
- Getting to the "GAME OVER" screen counts as a hit, damage and death.
- Any damage or stagger caused by no violent NPCs (city guardians, lady from flowers shrines…) counts as a hit, but it is damage only if health is lost.
- Lightning strikes from a storm are considered a hit if they strike on a conductive element (metal or electric element). It is not considered a hit if it just strikes on Link or near Link because of RNG but it is considered as damage if health is lost. If you die from the RNG strike, that will of course be considered as a hit, damage and death.
- Damage produced because of too high or too low temperatures is considered environmental damage and not a hit.
- Burning because of a fire not produced by an enemy (torch, campfire…) is considered environmental damage and not a hit.
- Damage caused by freeze water is considered environmental damage and not a hit.
- Losing a hearth from the secondary effect of Ganon’s weapons.
- Damage caused by animated objects (boxes, stones, spikes, spiked balls, laser beams, electrified objects…) counts as a hit and damage.
- Voiding, drowning and falling in lava count as a hit, but is considered damage only if health is lost.
- Being caught in Yiga’s hideout, Gerudo Town or by the flower lady doesn’t count as a hit.
- Hits that are gotten by a mount (horse, walrus, deer, Sidon…) while Link is riding it, count as hits for Link. It is not considered damage if Link's health does not decrease. It is considered that Link is riding a mount when the movement inputs appear in the HUD.
- Ragdoll animations not caused by an enemy, NPC, divine beast or animal don't count as a hit, but can count as damage if health is lost. Specifically, the ragdoll animation of falling from shield surfing because the shield breaks doesn’t count as a hit.
- Getting lost in the Lost Woods is considered voiding and thus a hit.
- Any damage or stagger caused by neutral NPCs is considered a hit, but is considered damage only if health is lost.
