Rules
The name of a run should follow the format: TBOIR [Difficulty] [No Hit, No Damage or Both] / [Character] / [Ending] + [Additional restrictions and Marks completed]. Examples:
TBOIR Hard Mode No Hit, No Damage / Azazel / Blue Baby, Boss rush
TBOIR Greedier No Hit / Eden / Orbitals Only
TBOIR Challenge 16 No Hit
Note that if the category is Greed, Greedier or a Challenge, no ending is required in the title. In challenges you don't need to specify character, ending or difficulty, just the number of the challenge. Greed and Greedier count as the same category but at different difficulties. For co op runs, clarify all the characters used by each player.
The categories on this game are the endings you can get after defeating their respective bosses, here is a list with them.
Categories:
Challenge
Isaac/Satan
Blue Baby/The Lamb
The Beast
Mega Satan
Greed
Delirium
Mother
The extra marks are extra bosses you can do in a run, these marks aren't endings as they don't end the run and you have to continue after them.
Extra marks:
Boss Rush
Hush
Rules (General):
1- It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED but NOT MANDATORY to use the Repentance DLC and use a 100% (Dead God) save
file, you can use a save file that doesnt have full completion or play on vanilla Rebirth or an
older DLC, however you still have to do one of the categories shown earlier.
2- In every run the HUD needs to be visible at every moment, in order to facilitate verification.
3- It is NOT ALLOWED to submmit a seeded run.
4- It is MANDATORY to show the seed of the run at some point (preferably at the begining) just by
showing for a couple of seconds the pause menu.
5- You must start the run from scratch. Starting with an extra item due to having collected
Eden's blessing in a previous run is NOT ALLOWED
(except for multi-runs, where it is only not allowed in the first one).
6- Restarting is ALLOWED, as long as the rest of the rules are met,
(the seed you resetted is also not part of the run) EXCEPT for multi-runs.
7- Reducing your maximum health (that is, your number of heart containers) does NOT count as a hit,
nor as damage (For example, by making a pact with the Devil, buying in the Black Market,
or using items like "Experimental Treatment").
8- Quitting and loading before completing a room to reset the enemies is NOT ALLOWED.
9- Major glitches are FORBIDDEN.
10- Taking an "Hematemesis" pill does not count as a hit, nor as damage, however getting damaged
by the explosions of Horf! or Explosive Diarrea COUNT as both hit and damage.
11- A secondary character like Strawman or Soul of the Forgotten getting hit/damaged does NOT count
as either hit or damage and does NOT invalidate a run, however in co-op runs any of the players
getting hit COUNTS as a hit.
12- Pausing the game for any reason (even in combat and even doing it repeatedly) is always
allowed as long as you dont quit the game in an uncompleted room)
13- Items or consumables that give invincibility such as Book of Shadows, My little unicorn, Mega Mush,
Algiz rune and similar, are ALLOWED and being invincible negates all hits and damage.
14- Items that sometimes negate damage like Infamy or Cone Head are ALLOWED and when the damage
is negated it does NOT count as hit nor as damage.
15- For Victory Lap and Rerun runs, you have to complete and show footage of both the beggining run and
the Rerun/Laps.
16- Running out of hearts with the soul or the body of the forgotten with a devil deal, making only
one part playable is ALLOWED.
17- Quitting when a restock machine explodes is ALLOWED as long as the room is cleared.
18-Visual and music mods are ALLOWED, as long as they
do not provide any advantage from an un-modded run,
(like making certain attacks or sound-effects more apparent than usual).
Mods for color-blindness that change the color palette are
absolutely ALLOWED. Some description mods like
External Item Description Mod and Planetarium Chance Mod are also allowed.
Any other kind of mod (especially content ones) will make the run invalid.
List of Major Glitches (Not allowed to do):
-Getting an item that is about to dissapear in the 4 frames it takes to dissapear, also applies to
duplicating it with diplopia/crooked penny (however this is ALLOWED if 2 different characters
grab the items, like playing Jacob and Esau or playing co-op)
-Getting extra rewards from lost soul by using a voided glowing hourglass
-Underflowing the tear rate so you get max tear rate
-Getting to the I Am Error room by clipping through the walls (you can of course get to
the I Am Error room by other means such as using Teleport 2.0).
Any other game break is allowed and not a glitch, as they are part of the game
Rules (No Hit):
1- A bite from a Bulb (the charged mosquitoe that drain your active's charges) does NOT count as a hit.
2- Holy Mantle or the Holy Card effects does NOT prevent you from taking a hit.
3- Dying does NOT count as a hit as long as you have a revive, are in a completed room and use a
self damage method (for exmaple sacrifice room) or do it on purpose with a warning, similar to rule 5,
you can also die in an uncompleted room if you use plan C and have a revive.
4- Self-inflicted damage items or effects are ALLOWED, as long as you don't die to them
(that includes blood machines, sacrifice rooms, Blood Oath, spiked chest Tainted Maggy...). Basically
anything that does NOT lower deal chance and removes Perfection is self damage, and anything that
lowers it and removes Perfection is a hit.
5- Enviromental damage like red poop, fireplaces or spiked rocks COUNTS as a hit, UNLESS the room you
are in is fully clear and you audibly state that you are going to get hit (or indicating it in-game by
spining around yourself in circles 3 times), before getting hit. For example, getting hit by your own
bomb in order to trigger the Whore of Babylon effect is fine (if it was previously stated), but getting
hit accidentally by your own Ipecac tear is not.
6- Taking a random pill with the "Bad Trip" effect does NOT count as a hit, but it does count as damage.
7- Getting broken hearts does NOT count a hit.
8- Shard of Glass follows general rules, meaning that non self damage COUNTS as a hit but self damage
does NOT.
9- Dark Esau turning a player into The Lost COUNTS as a hit.
10- The Evis enemy grabbing you does NOT count as a hit.
Rules (No Damage):
1- Anything that reduces your current health (either red or blue or any kind of heart) counts as damage,
this includes broken hearts, the only exceptions to this are devil deals/black market and opening the
Mausoleum door.
2- Dying is always ALLOWED, except if it is due to your current health going down to zero. That means
extra lives, items and consumables like "Plan C" or "Suicide King", and dying to a Devil deal are
ALLOWED.
Rules (No Hit & No Damage):
1- Both No Hit and No Damage rules apply.
